Have you seen the Hey, Cookie! Cookie Combo gift? It comes with Ah, Sugar Sugar!™ Cookie Mix, Peanut Butter Cookie Mix and a Silicone Baking Mat with Sili-Scrub Cloth. Let me tell you, these cookie mixes are super kid-friendly and work great as a base for making holiday cookies.
Speaking of kid-friendly, my daughter has been reading more and more lately, so I gave her the box and had her instruct her little brother and me on what steps we needed to take. A little home economics never hurt anyone! And these main prep steps are pretty straight forward and easy to understand. I made sure to add a little holiday flair to each cookie recipe. Check it out:
Making holiday peanut butter blossoms is as easy as rolling the Peanut Butter Blossom dough, prepped as directed on the box, into red, green and white (or whatever color you like!) sprinkles.
Bake as directed and put a chocolate kiss in the middle of each as they come out of the oven. Check out the Peanut Butter Blossom recipe here »
I don’t know about you, but my kids LOVE sprinkles. I thought, why not put sprinkles inside the sugar cookies. We added 1/8 cup sprinkles with ½ cup mini M&Ms. They look so festive! Fun fact: did you know the Silicone Baking Mat is two sided? One side has little circles on it, so your kids know to evenly space your cookies – brilliant!
Always remember that getting kids in the kitchen may be messy, and your cookies might turn out a little lumpy instead of perfectly round, but that’s okay! What matters is the time spent with your littles (or big kids) in the kitchen and that they are learning a great life skill.
