Becoming a Tastefully Simple consultant was the result of what I call a “God moment.” I’ve loved Tastefully Simple products for a long time, but was having trouble finding a local consultant. It occurred to me that I might as well join so I could stock my pantry myself – and if I made a little extra cash, too, that would be great.
Then, just a few days later, I contracted COVID-19. I’m a full-time, self-employed hair stylist. The two weeks I was off work without pay, I focused my energy on promoting Tastefully Simple products. I went from barely cooking at the beginning of the year to being forced to stay home, cook and learn to enjoy cooking more. I now use Tastefully Simple in almost everything I make, and it makes cooking easier, yet full of flavor!
Due to COVID, I’ve been working my business exclusively online, plus occasionally mailing sample packets to people. Of course, when they try the product, they fall in love.
My way of promoting my business is honestly pretty simple. I started out by asking on Facebook who has used Tastefully Simple products and what their favorite products are. It opened the conversation to offer them the opportunity to buy the products. I talked about what I was cooking and which items I included in my food, and that created the excitement for others. I don’t think of myself as a salesperson. But with more people staying home and cooking, I’m offering a service many really need.
I’ve built my client based by just being real and talking to people. They get excited and share with their friends, too! I send all of my clients thank-you cards, because people like to feel acknowledged and appreciated for their support. I plan to follow up with them every three months or so.
Looking back, I can see how much Tastefully Simple has impacted my life even before I started my business. Many years ago, as a single mom, I used the products because I didn’t always keep fresh foods on hand but liked the clean-label seasonings that jazzed up my cheap dinners into something that tasted like more.
Flash-forward a few years: being a busy mom running to sports, I needed food that was quick and easy but good. And now, as a mom of four kids ranging from 18 to 1 years old, I still need convenience. On top of that, my hair-styling business was heavily impacted by COVID-19 and shut down for nine weeks. I couldn’t always run to the store or buy all the things I wanted. Adding a dash of Tastefully Simple helped keep meals yummy.
Now more than ever is the perfect time to explore the Tastefully Simple business opportunity. Most people are staying home more, working from home, homeschooling, etc. Everybody eats, and our products offer convenience and most of us need to supplement some income after this year. It’s a great opportunity and easy to incorporate into every day living!
