Have a Pumpkin-Free Thanksgiving

It’s pumpkin season! Everywhere you look, the cheerful orange gourd is on display and in everything from lattes to ice cream and even (yikes!) pumpkin spice-flavored ramen noodles. It all reaches its peak on Thanksgiving, with the traditional pumpkin pie to cap off the feast. But there is a dark secret many of us are keeping.

We’re just not really that into pumpkin.

There are other traditional options, of course: mince and pecan pie come to mind. But why limit yourself to the same, familiar dessert, when the world is FULL of delightful possibilities? Here are a few to consider:

Rhubarb Strawberry Crème Brûlée Bars. Feels fancy enough for the holiday, but is so easy! Hint: Feeding a crowd? Mix up a batch of Chocolate Crème Brûlée Bars, too!

Cookies ‘n Irish Cream Trifles. Rich and indulgent, plus pretty and a little sophisticated. What more could you ask?

Brownie Turtle Cheesecake. Use your electric pressure cooker (really!) to make this showstopper of a dessert, equal parts Butterscotch Brownie and caramel cheesecake with chocolate ganache, whole pecans and Creamy Caramel topping.

Caramel Banana Cream Bites. Stinkin’ cute AND fabulously festive, these little bites of creamy banana mousse in mini phyllo shells will earns all the oohs.
