If ever you are looking for a delicious and attractive appetizer … think wonton wrappers. Seriously. They. Are. Awesome. I have made everything from crab rangoon to mini lasagna to broccoli slaw in them, and everything I have tried has tasted fabulous and looked adorable … yay!
Wonton wrappers are readily available and often located in the produce section of your grocery store. They usually come 60 to a pack, but they freeze well, and, as I mentioned, you can make lots of things with them. PLUS, they are so easy to handle and bake up beautifully.
So this weekend … try some fresh and delicious broccoli slaw in wonton cups with your grilled chops or burgers. And invite the neighbors! They’ll think you’re a bonafide chef!

Coleslaw in Wonton Cups
Ingredients
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 12 oz. broccoli slaw mix
- ¼ cup green onion, finely chopped
- ½ cup dried cranberries
- 1 small apple, chopped
- Sunflower seeds (optional)
- 24 wonton wrappers
Directions
Tips and Hints
- Feel free to use your favorite slaw ingredients – Napa or red cabbage, dried cherries instead of cranberries, slivered almonds – the recipe is very flexible, and Vidalia® Onion Dressing makes just about everything taste great!
- If you are using a mini muffin tin, use just one wonton wrapper per cup and make 24 instead of 12.
- If you aren’t serving these immediately, you can still make the cups and mix up the slaw ahead of time, just wait until serving time to fill and garnish.
